CLINTON, IA. – May 13, 2020 – LyondellBasell today announced it has donated $50,000 to River Cities Information Referral and Assistance Services. The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted various facets of people’s lives and created hardships for many. Food banks all over the world are on the front lines of this international pandemic providing food assistance to millions facing hunger, with demand increasing every day. LyondellBasell aims to help relieve some of the strain with its donation.

“River Cities Information Referral and Assistance Services help so many local residents who are seeing an increase need for services,” said Yarelis Hernandez, site manager. “We have been in the Clinton community for 50 years and our mentality has always been to help our neighbors where we can.”

About LyondellBasell’s Clinton Plant

With approximately 400 employees and contractors, and covering an area of almost 239 acres, the Clinton Complex is one of the largest chemical plants in Iowa. Using natural gas liquids as a feedstock, the plant manufactures ethylene, the world’s most widely-used petrochemical, which is then converted into polyethylene plastic resins. These resins are the building blocks for products such as leak-proof and shatter-proof containers for industrial and household chemicals, packaging that protects food from spoilage and contamination, and children’s toys that are safe and durable.
