Clinton Iowa Housing Authority Seeks Applicants for Executive Director

Clinton Housing Authority (CHA), located in Clinton, IA, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Executive Director. CHA has 50 units of scattered-site family public housing, 424 Housing Choice Vouchers and Stay N Play Childcare/Preschool Center (licensed for 52 children by the State of Iowa). Additionally, the Executive Director serves as the Managing Agent for two (2) HUD Multifamily Section 202/8 properties owned by Clinton Ecumenical Housing, Inc. (Park Tower, 71 units) and Clinton Ecumenical North, Inc. (Lyons Manor, 50 units).

The Executive Director is accountable to the Board of Commissioners for the planning, implementation, direction, and administration of all CHA programs and functions. The Executive Director, under the oversight of the Board of Commissioners, implements both the long-term visionary and short-term operational priorities of the agency. The Executive Director is responsible for overall agency performance as measured by HUD and other Federal, State and local governing entities.

The requirements are a Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Public or Business Administration or a closely related field, with three years of progressively responsible experience in management or administration or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience resulting in the ability to fulfill the essential job duties of the position. Also required are: valid driver’s license, strong communication skills (both oral and written), professional and administrative capabilities, and experience supervising personnel. Public Housing Management Certification and Multifamily Management Certification required within one year of hire or other allowable period of hire as authorized by the Board of Commissioners.
