The Clinton Area Development Corporation is pleased to announce the hiring of Steven G. Ames as President & Chief Executive Officer. In this position, Mr. Ames will be responsible for the implementation of economic development programs that address business attraction, business retention, and workforce development in the Clinton region.

Tom Fullerton, Chairman of the CADC Board of Directors, stated. “We believe that Steve possesses the education, professional experience, and drive to effectively implement our five year plan known as…Quality Jobs 4 A Strong Future. The goal of this plan is to effectively promote and market the distinctive assets of the Clinton area as an attractive and appealing business location, while continuing to place existing business and its priorities at the top of the list. We are delighted to have him aboard.”

Mr. Ames educational accomplishments include a B.A. in Business Administration from St. Ambrose University, and two Master Degrees from the University of Iowa in Economics, and Urban and Regional Planning.

Most recently, Mr. Ames served as Project Manager with the Quad City Development Group based in Rock Island, Illinois. In this position his primary responsibility was to prepare, write and package proposals specifically designed to market the Quad City Region to prospective new businesses exploring the area for possible relocation, expansion and/or investment opportunities. He has worked closely with both county and municipal governments, downtown development groups, community colleges and universities, local realtors, banks and utility companies in developing marketing programs geared toward businesses considering the area as a possible site for investment.
