Vision 2020 Raises More than $2.8 Million!
CLINTON, IA – Business and government leaders from throughout the Clinton Region joined together yesterday evening to celebrate the successful conclusion of the Clinton Regional Development Corporation (CRDC)’s Vision 2020 funding program.
The Vision 2020 funding program began with a “stretch” goal of $2.75 million to expand economic development in the Clinton Region. “I heard from several people that there was skepticism in the community about whether that amount could really be raised,” said Steve Howes, Co-Chair of the program. “But we were confident that we could do it.”
The hard work of executing a fundraising program was carried out by a dedicated group of volunteers, according to Co-Chair Bruce Christensen. “Convergent Nonprofit Solutions, our funding consultant, provided the framework for our successful effort. But at the end of the day, folks have to go on the investor calls and make the sale. We had a really great team that made it happen.”
Last night, Howes and Christensen unveiled a check for $2,874,125, which they presented to CRDC Chair Rich Phelan and CRDC President/CEO Mike Kirchhoff, CEcD.
Kirchhoff is pleased. “The momentum we’ve seen in the Clinton Region and among our investors is fantastic – the Vision 2020 leadership have done an outstanding job.”
Sensing that momentum, the CRDC didn’t wait for the conclusion of Vision 2020 to move forward. According to Kirchhoff, the CRDC is already reviewing candidates for its new Vice President-Existing Industry. The new vice president is expected to be on board by September.
